I know better now

Hey Reader,

A few days ago I shared what happened on the highway - that big-ass truck that pushed us out of my lane into oncoming traffic. Thank God we're still here. And thank you for holding that space for me.🙏

In the old days, I would've shoved that trauma down deep with the whole "well, at least we didn't die", or "yeah, but we're okay now, so let's move on". And that's where it would have stayed - down deep - in my nervous-system, wreaking havoc.

I know better now, but that's what most of us do when we've been through something traumatic, be that a 30 second face-to-face with death, 30 years of emotional abuse, an unexpected loss, or even that very specific moment we discover betrayal. We tend to try to move on rather than through.

Moving through it doesn't mean it hurts more, or longer. It's actually the opposite. It means we process it fully so it doesn't stick around. That doesn't happen in an instant, but it doesn't have to take years of therapy either. And it's way better than the alternative.

Here's how I know: This happened on our way to my daughter's, where we enjoyed a full, fun weekend with family and I didn't really think about it too much. It wasn't until I was back at home in my own bed, with no littles and no distractions, that it all flooded to the surface. The anxiety, the panic, the acute awareness of how close it was, and the one that really got me - that flash of shame.

That immediate question of my own self worth. Even in a moment where I was clearly, undeniably enough, that old belief tried to step in. What's different today is I know it's not true, and I knew what to do to help that part of me come back to the Truth.

That's what integration does. That's what Returning to YourSelf looks like.

Life still happens, but who you ARE in the happenings is what makes the difference. If you've made it through the hard part, but the anxiety, the second-guessing, the feeling that you're stuck outside your own life still hangs around, there's a way through for you.

She's still in there, but somewhere between the trauma and surviving, you lost your thread back to her. The Breakthrough Blueprint™ is how you find her again.

It might be the most important $27 you ever spend on yourself. (and costs less than a pedicure. 😉)

Hi Love, In honor of my little slice of "Baboo" wisdom I shared Monday - "I'm willing to help anyone who's willing to help themselves" this month only, I’m doing Breakthrough Blueprints™ LIVE! Same thing you know - you fill out the Discovery form, I review it before we meet and create your Blueprint - but instead of sending you a recorded video, we sit down together on Zoom and walk through it in real time. You get your Blueprint AND a LIVE 1:1 with me, where you can ask questions, dive...

Hey, Something I've been thinking about... I'll always remember my grandmother "Baboo" saying, "I'm willing to help anyone who's willing to help themselves." And she meant it. She was one of the most generous people I've ever known, but she was NOT an enabler. How'd she know?? 😊 She wasn't judgy or preachy, she just had clear boundaries with her time, energy and resources and she honored it. In her wisdom, I always knew I had support, but more importantly, that I had a choice about my own...

Hey Reader, Ok, I promised to follow up about boundaries. Yes, they were part of the situation with the rude woman, but they're not what you might think. We tend to think in order to have healthy boundaries we need to draw hard lines in the sand - make it clear what we will and will NOT tolerate. Give someone who crosses them a big ole' WHAT FOR, but those aren't really boundaries. Those are just words. In fact, if you have clear, solid boundaries, you don't HAVE to do that, because here's...
