Be like a tree

I love this time of year! Not just the pumpkins and cooler air, but the "letting go" energy it brings. Trees don't negotiate with their leaves - they just know when it's time to let them go. Apparently, it was time for mine to let go of a bazillion acorns, too. 😒

But seriously, I've been thinking about that a lot this week. About the things we hold onto past their time. The stories, the patterns, the beliefs about ourselves that took root in our pain that we never thought to question and just accepted.

You know the ones I mean - they made sense at the time and probably kept us safe, but at some point, surviving and living start to feel very different. That's a good sign we're ready to let something go. Or getting close.
