I ran out of runway

Hey Reader,

A couple of years out of my marriage, after all the work I'd done to heal and get back to my life, I was still soooo STUCK. And I was judging the hell out of myself for it.😒

Why was I still anxious? Why was I still second-guessing myself? Why could I understand so much about what had happened and still feel like this? And it always took me back to "What's WRONG with me?"

And then I heard a very clear answer: "You're out of runway. Turn around!"

It was like the sky opened up! I finally got it. I was running AWAY from what I needed to be turning TOWARD.

Everything started to shift when I started asking different questions. Instead of judging that part that was still hurting and constantly asking her "What's WRONG with you?" (which is essentially what I was doing - asking a very young, very wounded part of me wtf was wrong with her.🤦‍♀️), I started asking her what still hurt. What she needed. How could I help?

And I listened - without judgment. I showed up for her with compassion and clarity until she felt safe, seen, and whole again.

Those questions didn't magically change everything overnight, but they helped me take responsibility for my healing without blaming myself for everything that had hurt me. I could acknowledge my patterns without letting them define me. And I could look at what needed to change without treating myself as the problem.

That's something I wish more women knew: you can be honest about where you're struggling and still meet yourself with compassion. The part of you that's still hurting isn't a "problem" you need to fix. She just needs to heal.

If that "What's WRONG with me?" question sounds familiar, it's time to change it. The Breakthrough Blueprint™ is where we start.

Hey Reader, Does this sound familiar? I was 3 years post-divorce with a lot of good work behind me, ready to get back to my life - and I was completely STUCK. Why was I so good at helping other people, but I couldn't figure out what was blocking ME? I'd second-guess myself constantly. Replay conversations. Spend way more energy managing how someone else might feel than actually asking mySELF how I felt. I was smart and capable and I could handle a lot. And - I'd completely stopped trusting...

Hey Reader, I love this time of year! Not just the pumpkins and cooler air, but the "letting go" energy it brings. Trees don't negotiate with their leaves - they just know when it's time to let them go. Apparently, it was time for mine to let go of a bazillion acorns, too. 😒 But seriously, I've been thinking about that a lot this week. About the things we hold onto past their time. The stories, the patterns, the beliefs about ourselves that took root in our pain that we never thought to...

Hey, And hello Monday! I've got a two things can be true at the same time story: So, I've had "List Dot" on my calendar every day for months - which meant, post my sweet little vintage VW convertible for sale. She's a '74 and I've had her since my oldest daughter graduated from high school in 2007 - my "just because I wanted her" gift to myself. I loved tootling around to run errands, or taking my middle-schooler and friends to TP the boys' houses. (don't judge - we got TP'd plenty 😂) We had...
